Michael
Mol
DETAILED
BIOGRAPHY
MBChB, Dip PEC (UP)
Dr Michael Mol is a qualified medical doctor with vested interests in HIV management, emergency medicine (registered advanced trauma, cardiac and pediatric life support physician) and integrative medicine – blending science with the art of healing.
Eight years ago he carried his charisma from the casualty room over to the small screen and has co-anchored Top Billing, South Africa’s longest running prime time magazine program ever since. He has spoken to the stars, travelled the world and shared his experiences in a personal and endearing way with a captive audience, as evidenced by numerous critically acclaimed media awards. A former Mr. South Africa, he is also a Red Cross Children’s Champion and a patron of SA Cares for Life and The Living Hope Community Centre.
Michael's passion for understanding the world around him led him to make a subtle shift in emphasis by co-founding a futurist consultancy in 2004. This shift has allowed him to devote more time to working with individuals and organizations, helping them to understand the way the world works, trends that will affect us in the future, and what to do today to be ready for them. In particular, Michael has a passion for helping people find true significance and a holistic, balanced approach to the world they live in. This combines his medical training, his life experiences and his business skills in a truly unique blend that sets him aside from the average motivational or inspirational communicator. He has spoken to leading companies around the world and has recently been nominated by foremost CEO’s as one of the top business speakers for the GIBS Speakers Awards.
In October 2006, Michael was appointed as CEO of Paragon Health – a company focused on integrating health and wellness and providing optimal wellbeing for a productive nation.
He’s a writer and speaker that suffers from an incurable ailment …an insatiable thirst for endogenous adrenalin! From sky-diving out of a hot-air balloon, to running the bulls in Pamplona, to scuba diving under an frozen lake, to wing walking on a bi-plane, to surfing the great Zambezi white waters on a body board and bungi jumping off the highest bridge in the world backwards … there’s nothing that he would shrink back from – yet!
Michael resides in Johannesburg, South Africa and has been married to Jacqui since 1994, and has two children, Joshua (7 yrs) and Rachael (4 yrs).

Get a Life. Work Life Balance!? Get a life.
On your marks, get set … think.
Why is it that despite the speed and efficiency of the 21st century there’s still too much to do, and too little time? We live our lives in the fast lane, but are in danger of falling asleep at the wheel. Exhaustion has become the most prevalent health epidemic in modern times, yet we continue running on empty, tipping the scales and upsetting the balance – begging the question: “Are we really living at all?”
There is an answer, a distinct, proven remedy to manage the all consuming 24/7 work ethic. “It’s about time!” you exclaim. Actually it’s not … it’s about Energy. Time is only valuable when it intersects with energy. What matters is not the amount of time spent but the energy that’s invested in the time that you have, whether at work or at leisure.
Since Energy is defined as the capacity to do work, every business requires adequate energy to drive successful execution. Energy is therefore the fundamental currency of business, and arguably the most important asset of any organization.
As the late Peter Drucker said: "Your first and foremost job as a leader is to take charge of your own energy, and then to help orchestrate the energy of those around you."
Managing energy, not time, is the key to sustained high performance and satisfying work life balance, or better still: Work Life Integration. That’s the foundational mainstay of the keynote presentation: Get a Life. This simple yet profoundly fundamental paradigm shift will assist individuals and organizations to accomplish more, in less time, with a higher level of engagement and a better quality of life.
